What we do and why?
The Ukrainian Literary Club is dedicated to promoting the appreciation and understanding of Ukrainian literature. Our mission is to create a welcoming platform where members can delve into the works of Ukrainian authors, discuss and analyze, literary themes, deepen their knowledge and connection to the country’s cultural heritage through the written word.
Activities:
Book Introduction:
– Reviewing general information and facts.
– Reading, listening, retelling the chosen literature\folklore\art piece.
Book Analysis and Discussions:

- Regular meetings feature in-depth analysis and profound discussions of selected Ukrainian literary work\s. Members explore themes, plot, characters, and cultural contexts, providing diverse perspectives, opinons, thoughts, ideas on each piece.
- Impressions, emotional reflextion for the book.
Author Spotlights:

- The club shines a spotlight on Ukrainian authors, both classic and contemporary. Members have the opportunity to delve into an author’s life and literature journey, their work, gaining insights into their writing style, influences, and impact on Ukrainian literature, dicover interesting and unusual facts.
Creative Writing Sessions:

- The club encourages creative expression through writing. Members can participate in writing sessions\activities\tasks, share their work, and receive constructive feedback in a supportive environment.
Cultural Events:

- Beyond literature, the club organizes cultural events to enrich members’ understanding of Ukraine. This may include film screenings, guest lectures, learning traditional customs, dicussing\practicing national trades or cuisine, playing thematical games, doing quizes (with prizes!:)), converstaions on the historical and societal (etc), context of literary works and more.
Online Book Club Platform\chat:

- Utilizing online platforms, the club provides a virtual space for discussions, ensuring that members from various locations can participate in the literary journey. Book recommendations, articles, and supplementary materials are shared through these platforms.
Poetry Nights:

- Special sessions dedicated to exploring Ukrainian poetry and songs (classical, folk and modern). We will listen to and read the best pieces. Members can recite their favorite poems\songs, discuss the nuances of poetic language, and explore the evolution of Ukrainian poetic\music traditions.
Language Learning Support: Recognizing the important and initial connection between language and literature, the club supports language learners by providing language resources, vocabulary-building activities, and language-focused discussions.

How it works?
– Usually we use Skype (or other video platform)
– Literary Club session is 60-70 minutes long
– There are 3-12 people in one group
– The sessions are 1-2 times a week
– The sessions are hosted by a professional and nativespeaker teacher
– You can choose the group with the most comfortable time of sessions for you (morning, afternoon or evening).
– You can participate in annd enjoy the sessions from the comfort of your home or any other convenient place:).
– You gen get the recorded session if you couldn’t attend.
